School Academy

The SD22 Soccer Academy Program, delivered by Thompson Okanagan Soccer Academy (TOSA) in partnership with vLearn SD22 Online School, offers a formal, high-performance training environment for motivated Grade 8 to 12 soccer athletes who are committed to both academic and athletic excellence. The program focuses on mastering the essential techniques of soccer — dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control — while teaching advanced concepts of attacking, defending, positional awareness, and overall game understanding. Athletes also develop their physical literacy, improving strength, coordination, agility, and movement, which builds confidence and supports long-term athletic development.

Beyond technical skill, the program places strong emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect, fostering well-rounded athletes with a genuine love for the game. Training sessions are designed and delivered by full-time professional, certified coaches who are committed to player growth across the physical, mental, emotional, and social pillars of development. The Academy’s overarching goal is to enhance each player’s ability, knowledge, and understanding of the game, while helping athletes and families navigate the recognized BC and Canada Soccer player pathway, empowering players to reach the highest level they aspire to.

TOSA is proud of its tradition of excellence, with many players advancing to university and professional levels. Alumni include Connor Glennon, who progressed from the SD22 Academy to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency Program; Molly Race, now playing professionally in Denmark’s Women’s Super League with FC Nordsjælland; and Bentley Oyarzun, who signed with CD Leganés in Spain’s Second Division.

Program Details:

Grades: 8–12 (Junior: Grades 8–9 | Senior: Grades 10–12)
Location: Marshall Fields, 6601 Okanagan Landing Rd, Vernon, BC
Schedule: September–January | Outdoor training (September–mid-October) at Marshall Fields; Indoor training (mid-October–January) at Vernon Toyota Indoor Sports Centre. Students attend half-day sessions, Monday to Friday, rotating weekly between morning and afternoon blocks (A/B or C/D).
Coach Credentials: All coaches are Certified Professional Coaches with up-to-date criminal record checks, Respect in Sport, Respect in the Workplace, Concussion Awareness Training, and Commit to Kids certifications.
